What I wish for my Children.

I saw a post that someone did the other day on Instagram that gave a list of all the wonderful things she wished for her children to do in this life to leave an imprint on the world and to live a happy and fulfilling existence. It inspired me to make my own list that I have been thinking about off and on since I read the post. I think I will let this post sit in draft for a bit until I feel I have added all the things that I wish for my children, and maybe as the days and years pass by and I learn and grow more I'll come back to this post and add a little more.

Never give up on your pursuit to know God.

Pray everyday, even when you don't feel like it.

Spend time at your local library, and read as much as you can.

Learn a craft that brings you joy.

Plant a garden and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Get to know your neighbors and find ways to serve them.

Be outside as often as your can; walk, hike, ride your bike, or go on a picnic.

Find a place you love by the ocean and a place you love by the mountains.

Take time to be still and contemplate your life.

Always looks for the good in others.

Spend time out on the water.

Tell other people what you love about them.

Forgive.

Be happy with your body and appreciate all the wonderful things you can do with it.

Be yourself despite what others think of you.

Try hard.

Spend time doing things you love whether you are good at them or not.

Watch the movie GATTACA and apply those lessons to your life.

Try lots of things and discover what it is you love and keep doing that for the rest of your life in any capacity that you can.

As often as you can put others needs above your own, despite what the world tells you this will bring you great joy.

Don't be wasteful, take only what you need.

Leave places better than you found them.

Be grateful, when you look for it you will be overwhelmed with gratitude.

Spend your time being productive.

Make something with your hands.

As much as possible prepare homemade meals with fresh ingredients.

Travel as much as you can.

Spend time exploring the places you live.

Know how beautiful your are and don't spend time changing your appearance for the desires of others.

Know that an easy life doesn't always equate to a happy life.

Seek experiences over things.

Be patient and kind.

Listen to others and really consider their point of view.

Keep your promises and don't talk about others behind their back.

Spend time with your elders and ask them about their lives, you will learn so much.

If you can't think or come up with any ideas take a hot shower.

Learn your talents and use them to bring good into the world.

Be happy for others for their successes.

Know that everyone is fighting their own battle, so be loving and forgiving of others.

Tell the people you love how much you love them as often as you can.

Have joy in each moment, you will find so much happiness if you seek it.

Volunteer your time and take time to serve and acknowledge the homeless and those less fortunate than you.

Spend as little time in front of a screen as you can.

Talk to people and ask them about themselves.

Avoid things that can be addictive in any form or capacity.

Know that are you loved beyond your comprehension.
